Outrageous Pharmacist

Deb blogged While at the pharmacy on post today one of the civilian pharmacists had a badge on his shirt that said: "If Jesus healed the sick so why won't the President let us? Support embryonic stem cell research"

I suppose the guy is entitled to his opinion I find it very offensive:

  1. If you are going to pull Jesus into this I can guarantee you that he would not condone embryonic stem cell research. As a matter of fact He tells us that life begins at conception.
  2. Work is not the appropriate place to wear such items. A donkey pin, a GOP pin, fine, but this is over the line.
  3. Stem cell research can be done with umbilical cord blood and adult stem cell research.
I called the pharmacy administration to tell share my feelings, we'll see what comes of it. But then again, these days being Christian is about the only thing that isn't acceptable anymore.

I agree with all of your points, but would add
  1. Bush is the first President to support ANY stem cell research, and
  2. Embryonic Stem Cell Research is not illegal; privately funded research goes on, as does some state supported research. Bush just won't allow Federal Taxes being used to fund research that many feel is morally wrong.
