Radical Muslim paramilitary compound

Canada Free Press reported Situated within a dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains on the outskirts of Hancock, New York, Islamberg is not an ideal place for a summer vacation unless, of course, you are an exponent of the Jihad or a fan of Osama bin Laden.
I sure hope the FBI is keeping an eye on these people.
.... It is home to hundreds - - all in Islamic attire, and all African-Americans. Most drive late model SUVs with license plates from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The locals say that some work as tollbooth operators for the New York State Thruway, while others are employed at a credit card processing center that maintains confidential financial records.
That should make identity theft easier.
... Islamberg is not as benign as a Buddhist monastery or a Carmelite convent. Nearly every weekend, neighbors hear sounds of gunfire. Some, including a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, have heard the bang of small explosives. None of the neighbors wished to be identified for fear of "retaliation." "We don't even dare to slow down when we drive by," one resident said. "They own the mountain and they know it and there is nothing we can do about it but move, and we can't even do that. Who wants to buy a property near that?".... Though primarily based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has operational headquarters in New York and openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in hamaats or compounds, such as Islamberg, where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority. Additional hamaats have been established in Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulane Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Others are being built, including an expansive facility in Sherman, Pennsylvania.

Church sign about Islam offends Muslims

Michelle Malkin blogged about a billboard at the Good News Independent Baptist Church in Spring Hope, North Carolina that said "Dont be deceived: The message of "Islam" is surrender, convert, or die. Not salvation in Jesus Christ."
This is true. Islam talks about Jesus Christ, but it denies that He was the Son of God, and even denies He was crucified.
The other side of the billboard at is equally provocative. It reads: "When is the last time you heard of a Jew or Christian with a bomb strapped to their body?"
A very good point.
An offended official at the Islamic Center of Raleigh has asked the head of the church and his congregation to "learn more about Islam."

I think they know all they need to know about Islam, but thanks anyway.

Michelle also posts some really offensive religious signs.

University Punishes Student Publication for Political Satire

FIRE reported Showing profound disregard for free speech and freedom of the press, Tufts University has found a conservative student publication guilty of harassment and creating a hostile environment for publishing political satire. Despite explicitly promising to protect controversial and offensive expression in its policies, the Tufts Committee on Student Life decided yesterday to punish the student publication The Primary Source (TPS) for printing two articles that offended African-American and Muslim students on campus.

The left does not understand satire, if it comes from the right. Last December, TPS published a satirical Christmas carol entitled “Oh Come All Ye Black Folk” and the ad they printed but were they really guilty of “targeting [black students] on the basis of their race, subjected them to ridicule and embarrassment, intimidating them, and having a deleterious impact on their growth and well-being on campus” or “targeting members of the Tufts Muslim community for harassment and embarrassment, and should Muslim students have felt psychologically intimidated by the piece”? Are Conservatives and Christians the only groups that can have satirical pieces run about them without fear of prosecution? Let us look specifically at the Muslim piece. Does it paint Islam in a nice light? No. Is it one-sided? Yes, but it was in response to a one-sided and overly rosy depiction of Islam during Islamic Awareness week. And a university is supposed to be able to freely explore all sides of something, not just the side the left considers to be politically correct. And let us look at each part of it and see if it is true.

Islam
Arabic Translation: Submission
In the Spirit of Islamic Awareness Week, the SOURCE presents an itinerary to supplement the educational experience.

MONDAY: “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” – The Koran, Sura 8:12
The Koran certainly says that (they even provide a reference, and that is exactly what the Islamists are doing.
Author Salman Rushdie needed to go into hiding after Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeni declared a fatwa calling for his death for writing The Satanic Verses, which was declared “blasphemous against Islam.”
And he is not the only one to have such a fatwa declared against them, and some of those death sentences have been carried out.
TUESDAY: Slavery was an integral part of Islamic culture. Since the 7th century, 14 million African slaves were sold to Muslims compared to 10 or 11 million sold to the entire Western Hemisphere. As recently as 1878, 25,000 slaves were sold annually in Mecca and Medina. (National Review 2002)
True
The seven nations in the world that punish homosexuality with death all have fundamentalist Muslim governments.
True
WEDNESDAY: In Saudi Arabia, women make up 5% of the workforce, the smallest percentage of any nation worldwide. They are not allowed to operate a motor vehicle or go outside without proper covering of their body. (Country Reports on Human Rights Practices 2001)
True
Most historians agree that Muhammed’s second wife Aisha was 9 years old when their marriage was consummated.
True, and she was either 6 or 7 when he married her. See the hadith collection Muslims consider most reliable, Bukhari:And that is not just an eighth century thing. Article 1041 of the Civil Code of the Islamic Republic of Iran states that girls can be engaged before the age of nine, and married at nine: “Marriage before puberty (nine full lunar years for girls) is prohibited. Marriage contracted before reaching puberty with the permission of the guardian is valid provided that the interests of the ward are duly observed.” The Ayatollah Khomeini himself married a ten-year-old girl when he was twenty-eight. Khomeini called marriage to a prepubescent girl “a divine blessing,” and advised the faithful: “Do your best to ensure that your daughters do not see their first blood in your house.”
THURSDAY: “Not equal are those believers who sit and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit. Unto all Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit by a special reward.” – The Koran, Sura 4:95
True.
The Islamist guerrillas in Iraq are not only killing American soldiers fighting for freedom. They are also responsible for the vast majority of civilian casualties.
Mostly Muslims.
FRIDAY: Ibn Al-Ghazzali, the famous Islamic theologian, said, “The most satisfying and final word on the matter is that marriage is form of slavery. The woman is man’s slave and her duty therefore is absolute obedience to the husband in all that he asks of her person.”
Why are the feminists not outraged about this.
Mohamed Hadfi, 31, tore out his 23-year-old wife Samira Bari’s eyes in their apartment in the southern French city of Nimes in July 2003 following a heated argument about her refusal to have sex with him. (Herald Sun)
I did not see that report, but they did reference where it was reported.
If you are a peaceful Muslim who can explain or justify this astonishingly intolerant and inhuman behavior, we’d really like to hear from you! Please send all letters to tuftsprimarysource@gmail.com.
Stop the ACLU blogged Truth is no defence at Tufts, it seems.

Michelle Malkin blogged Sharia creep on campus. There are many fronts in the war against global jihad and the fight against dhimmitude.

Weasel Zipper blogged At Tufts in Boston, a group of conservative students published a counterpoint article to offset the rosy view of Islam being depicted during Islamic Awareness Week. Their article highlighted the bigotry and violence associated with the Koran.

What was the reaction to their counterpoint? Charges of harassment, and a guilty verdict by a panel of faculty and fellow students. Free speech is not tolerated at the majority of Universities if it differs from their extreme left wing ideology.

Gaius blogged Welcome to the brave new Inquisition. One presumes Tufts will immediately change its name to something more fitting. Torquemada University fits nicely - and they wouldn't even have to change the monograms! Bonus.

Doctors admit: NHS treatments must be rationed

The Observer reported British doctors will take the historic step of admitting for the first time that many health treatments will be rationed in the future because the NHS cannot cope with spiralling demand from patients.
Someone tell the Democrats, before they put us into this same situation.
In a major report that will embarrass the government, the British Medical Association will say fertility treatment, plastic surgery and operations for varicose veins and minor childhood ailments, such as glue ear, are among a long list of procedures in jeopardy. James Johnson, the BMA chairman, will warn that patients face a bleak future because they will increasingly be denied treatments. He will urge the NHS to be much more explicit about what it can realistically afford to do and ask political leaders to engage in an open, honest debate about rationing.
And warn the US not to adopt the same solution.
The BMA proposes the drawing up of a new patients' charter specifying those health services to which every citizen across England should be entitled, regardless of the local health authority's financial situation. They also want to see a second list of all the treatments which the sick will get only if their primary care trust has the money, and if doctors decide they are clinically worthwhile.
In other words treatments they will never get, or for which the waiting list is so long they hope the patient will die first.
Senior BMA sources say their report recognises the reality that despite record investment in the NHS, 'postcode lotteries' are rife. Primary care trusts, the local NHS organisations that commission and pay for care from hospitals on behalf of patients, are increasingly rejecting requests to pay for procedures or drugs because they are not perceived to be the best use of funds.

Sky Harbor Dihimmis

KVOA News 4 reported Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix has installed a cleanup station to help Muslim taxi and limo drivers meet their religious needs. Two faucets located two feet above the ground enable the drivers to conduct ritual cleansing, including washing of the feet, before they pray. They are part of washroom facilities in a fenced-off parking lot on the west side of the airport where taxi drivers wait to be called forward to the terminals for fares. "The cab drivers were asking for more washroom facilities as a group, and a majority of them wanted some place to wash before they pray," said Deborah Ostreicher, public information officer for the airport. "Sometimes there are as many as 400 drivers waiting, and they can be there for hours at a time. This is a way we thought we could reach out as a customer service."
The taxi drivers are not your customers; the passengers are your customers. The taxi drivers are vendors.
The facility was funded through airport user fees, she said, not taxpayer dollars.
Why didn't the taxi drivers pay for it?

Muslims fear backlash

Newsday reported "If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law,"
They will be.
said Sohail Mohammed, a lawyer who represented scores of detainees after the 2001 attacks. "But when the government says 'Islamic militants,' it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous.
Actually that phrase uses Islamic as an adjective to modify or be more specific in what the noun militants refers to.
Don't equate actions with religion."
Your religion should not urge violent actions.
.... Yaser El-Menshawy, chairman of the Majlis Ash-Shura of New Jersey, the state's council of mosques, condemned the plot and said he is glad it was not carried out. But he said the motivation of people who plot against the government "cannot be stopped simply by law enforcement or military means alone."
We are doing our best.
He said U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, among other issues, needs to be examined dispassionately.
Should e allow violence or threats of violence to control our foreign policy.

Entrapment???

Houston Chronicle reported He railed against the United States, helped scout out military installations for attack, offered to introduce his comrades to an arms dealer, and gave them a list of weapons he could procure, including machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. These were not the actions of a terrorist, but of a paid FBI informant who helped bring down an alleged plot by six Muslim men to massacre U.S. soldiers at New Jersey's Fort Dix.
If someone came up to me and railed against the US, and gave me a list of weapons he could procure, I would call the police and turn him in. Did they do that?
Those actions have raised questions of whether the government crossed the line and pushed the six men down a path they would not have otherwise followed. It is an argument — entrapment — that has been made in other terrorism cases, and one that has failed miserably in this post-Sept. 11 era.

Death on anyone who leaves Islam

Asia News reported A draft bill adopted in first reading by Pakistan’s National Assembly is now before a standing committee. Tabled by a six-party politico-religious alliance, the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal or MMA, the Apostasy Act 2006 which the government sent to the committee would impose the death penalty on Muslim men and life in prison on Muslim women in case they leave Islam. It would also force them to forfeit their property and lose legal custody of children.
Many Islam apologists pretend that their faith does not call for this, even though Surah 16:106 says Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty. and the fact that "Whoever changes his religion, kill him" is called for in Bukhari, Abu Dawud, and many other Haddith that are not online, including Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, An-Nasai, the Muwatta of Imam Malik, Tayalisi, Ibn Hanbal, Ibn Hibban, the Sunan al-Kubraa, Bayhaqi, Abu Ya'laa, Humaidi, Abd al-Razzaq, and Ibn Abi Shaybah.

Haveas Corpus

TheHill reported The new chairman of the House Armed Services Committee dealt a blow to the human-rights community by failing to include provisions to overhaul GOP legislation governing military tribunals in the 2008 defense authorization bill.
Good for him. Why should we clutter our court calendar with endless pleadings from people that tried to kill our people on the battlefield. We could have just killed them there, but we captured them so that we could learn from them and save American lives.
The chairman’s move is attracting criticism from some who say Democrats’ dedication to the issue is wavering.
Or maybe they are understanding reality.
Scores of human-rights lawyers and attorneys representing military detainees at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, have targeted Rep. Ike Skelton’s (D-Mo.) defense authorization bill as a chance to restore the writ of habeas corpus — detainees’ right to challenge the legality of their detention in court.

Conservative Dems expected to vote with GOP

AMERICAblog whined It's time to replace some conservative Democrats in Washington, DC.
Not a problem. We have plenty of Republicans available.
I just heard from an impeccable source that there is serious concern on the Hill that conservative Democrats in the House will vote with the Republicans to strip any and all restrictions from the Iraq supplemental tomorrow, effectively giving Bush all the money he wants with no restrictions and no effort to hold either him or the Iraq government accountable for anything. I.e., they will vote to continue this war along the same disastrous course because they're too afraid to challenge George Bush and his failed leadership.
Or maybe they recognize that he is pursuing a different plan with the surge, just not the retreat the left wing of the Democratic party wants, and maybe they realize the danger that a pullout would present to Americans here.

Google preparing to police web

Rough Type reported Increasingly worried by the use of conventional web sites to distribute the viruses that turn innocent PCs into botnet "zombies," Google appears to be readying a plan to police the web. If the plan goes forward, Google will use new software to automatically identify compromised web pages in its database and label them as "potentially harmful" in its search results. Because being labeled as suspicious by Google could devastate a site's traffic, the move would raise the security stakes for site owners dramatically.
This is very good news. I hope that they will share the sites they discovered with the virus protection companies so they can warn us when we go to sites that we identify other than through Google.

Interfaith dialogue

TimesOnline reported Tony Blair intends to create a global foundation to foster “greater understanding” between the three “Abrahamic faiths” of Christianity, Judaism and Islam after he leaves Downing Street, The Times has learnt..... A member of his tight-knit inner-circle of advisers confirmed yesterday that Mr Blair is looking to “set up some sort of interfaith organisation”, saying: “He sees this as where the action is and nobody else is really doing it.”.... the interfaith project will attempt to foster religious – rather than political – harmony in the Middle East and elsewhere across the world, including Britain, where rising tensions with militant Islam have provided the backdrop to many of the worst moments of his ten years in office.
I wish him luck. He will be dealing with two faiths that have the ability to reason and have intelligent discussions, and one that views violence as the way to prevail. I urge him to check with Robert Spencer at http://jihadwatch.org/
Mr Blair, who was enthusiastically reading the Koran even before the September 11, 2001, attacks on the US, said recently: “The tragedy is that as Christians, Jews and Muslims we are all Abrahamic religions. We regard ourselves as children of Abraham but we have fought for so long.”.... He added: “Most Christians are hugely surprised to be told that the Koran reveres Jesus as a prophet.
It also lists Jewish prophets like Abraham and Moses, but it refers to them as Muslims. This was done during the Mecca period when Muhammad was trying to convince Jewish and Christian tribes that their religious scriptures predicted a new prophet, and that he was that prophet, and that they should accept his new interpretation of their faith and become Muslims. When that did not work, he killed them, and transitioned into the Medina phase where the verses he added to the Koran called for the use of force to compel people to accept Islam.
Many Jews, Muslims and Christians are entirely ignorant of the rich Abrahamic heritage we share in common.”

Although aides acknowledge that the new project may face resistance from Muslims who loathe him for his role as an ally to Mr Bush and in the invasion of Iraq, Mr Blair believes that he can appeal to moderate Islam.
If he can just find it.
Swaraaj Chauhan blogged How about including Hindus, Buddhists and others in your future religious networking, Prime Minister Tony Blair?
Because he is trying to find Moderate Muslims, and Islam considers Jews and Christians to be "People of the Book"
Surat Al 'Imran, 64 (Qur'an 3:64) says "O People of the Book! Let us rally to a common formula to be binding on both us and you: That we worship none but God; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than God."
and it considers Hindus, Buddhists and others as pagans. That does not mean that Islam treats "People of the Book" as equals. They still must pay a special tax called Jizya if they want to practice their faith without converting to Islam
Surah 9:29
Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Is there any hope for peace in the Mideast

Certainly not as long as the Arabs love killing Jews more than they love their own children. Just look at this from Palestinian TV where a character like Mickey Mouse teaches kids to hate and want to kill Jews and work for a worldwide Caliphate.

Esraa, a 12 year old, called in and sang a song saying we will surrender ourselves, and they interrupted her and said it was not a good song, because it has the word surrender. Does she not understand that Islam means surrender, to the will of Allah? They claim it is the will of Allah that Jews be killed, but does this mean that their Allah is so powerless that if He wants them dead, that He cannot see to it, without His followers having to blow themselves up? Maybe it is not really His will, and maybe their so-called leaders are just pretending that it is.

Pamela Geller Oshry blogged A Mickey Mouse-like character is making regular appearances on Hamas's al-Aqsa TV to teach Palestinian children that Islam will "dominate the world," the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) organization said in a press release. Sections of the video are available for viewing on PMW's website.

Betsy Newmark blogged Check out this story about what they show to small children on Hamas-controlled TV starring a Mickey Mouse-like creature who teaches little children the lessons that Hamas thinks are most important for them.

Having large families ‘is an eco-crime’

TimesOnline reported Having large families should be frowned upon as an environmental misdemeanour in the same way as frequent long-haul flights, driving a 4x4 car and failing to reuse plastic bags, according to a report to be published tomorrow by a green think tank.
This is sheer stupidity. For one thing overpopulation is occurring in the third world countries, not in major Western countries, and Muslims are having the largest number of children in them. This stupid suggestion just increases the time when Europe will become Islamic by becoming majority Muslm countries; no force will be necessary to take it over.
The paper by the Optimum Population Trust (OPT) will say that if couples had two children instead of three they could cut their family’s carbon dioxide output by the equivalent of 620 return flights a year between London and New York.

Kim Priestap blogged I don't know what Mr. Guillebaud is so concerned about. Europeans are already breeding themselves right out of existence. Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, and Italy have higher death rates than birth rates. The UK's birth rate, which has been in decline since 1975, is currently 10.7 per 1000, making it barely higher than its death rate, which is 10.1 per 1000. I would think that would allay any of his concerns.

However, what Mr. Guillebaud doesn't realize is that by encouraging British and European couples to not have many children, he's encouraging a Muslim majority in Europe.

Dr. Rusty "John Doe" Shackleford blogged Once you identify man's very existence as the cause of the world's problems, then its not such a slippery slope to the introduction of the suicide booth. Or, as David Thompson notes, to the forced drinking of the Kool Aid.

Michael P.F. van der Galiën blogged Goody! Here is another solution: lets just stop helping the poor in Africa and Asia. If we stop helping them, many will not be able to survive: the less people the merrier! Ah, environmentalists, they are always entertaining, aren’t they.

Tim Worstall blogged Now you might think that this would be a gross invasion of the highly personal decisions of others and you'd be right. But just to convince of the moral purity of the exercise, we should consider the following:

Al Gore, environmental campaigner, four children.

Zac Goldsmith, environmental activist, editor of The Ecologist, three children.
