Maybe they should not have let so many into their country.The new counter-terrorism guidelines suggest that phrases such as “Islamic terrorist” and “jihadi fundamentalism” are too inflammatory and imply that all Muslims explicitly are responsible for extremism.
No, only the ones that support terrorism or jihadi fundamentalism. Oh, is that a lot of them? Then why did you let them in your country?Instead the leaked Home Office document advises Whitehall bosses that they refer to violent extremism and criminal murderers or thugs to avoid any link between Islam and terrorism.
Why confuse them with common murderers and thugs.However, the war on terror handbook has provoked an unfavorable response from people claiming the Government are bowing under the pressure of political correctness.
Don't make perfect the enemy of the good
Betsy Newmark blogged I'm clearly of the camp that argues that it is monumentally stupid to make the perfect the enemy of the good. Yes, McCain is not the perfect candidate, but he sure is better than Clinton or Obama on the war in Iraq and on judicial nominations.
That is true, and the threat of Islamic Terrorism has not gone away, and the next president will make several supreme court appointments. If McCain can be persuaded to select a good strong Conservative (not Huckabee) for VP we just might win the White House. Can anyone think of a strong conservative Black Woman? What about La Shawn Barber or Condi Rice???. If not her, then what about a Conservative Black (Thomas Sowell???) or a Conservative Woman (Michelle Malkin???). Obama is ahead in delegates, but Clinton will call in her chits with the Super Delegates to steal the nomination, and that should tick off the blacks who supported Obama, and the Hispanics will support McCain.That's enough for me. It's time for Romney and Huckabee to give it up and throw their support behind the party's choice. They've had their best shot but they haven't demonstrated viability across the board. And conservatives need to stop sniping at each other over the outcome of the nomination fight.

Lent
My good friend The Anchoress just emailed me (and a number of other bloggers) asking what we were giving up for Lent. Having just gotten back from voting in the Democratic Primary for Obama (although I would hate to see him win), I started to say "having a woman president in 2009", but I suspect that is not exactly what she was looking for. Let's see: I don't smoke, or drink, and my carousing abilities are very restricted. Can I give up tobacco, booze, and wild wild women? No, I didn't think that would count. Although it does seems unfair, because there are a lot of people that need to give up on some of those, and I am offering to stop all three. I am on the Atkins diet, and have been cheating on the carbs recently. I guess I can try to cut back on that, and try to stay on Induction for Lent.
I hope the Anchoress does not do as she talked about and cut back on blogging about Politics. In this crazy season we need her presence in the Blogospere.

When the girl arrived from Pakistan expecting to meet the handsome man she had been shown in a photograph, she found that he was 40 years old, unemployed and disabled.
Note don't marry someone you have never met, and have just talked to on the phne, and been shown a photograph by someone you can't trustTo make matters worse, her mother-in-law decided to exploit her attractive looks by forcing her into prostitution. The family invited men to the family home to rape her.

THISDAY ONLINE reported Tension was rife in Kano following moves by the state’s sharia police against brothel, hotels and cafes situated in non-Muslim sections of the Sabon Gari area of the metropolis. The sharia police numbering about two hundred were seen at night patrolling in seven open vehicles that carried dangerous weapons including bows, arrows, sticks and cutlass. They attacked a civil service club at Magajin Rumfa Road, and all the hotels that are located in Sabon Gari, an area where most of its inhabitants are Christians. The Sharia Police, otherwise called, Hisbah Police, earlier turned down summons by the Kano State Police Command, which had cautioned them about their unconstitutional activities. “We’re operating our duties based on law of the state, and shariah must be complied with by anyone residing in Kano” a top official of the Hisbah said following the police summons.
European countries allowing sharia law in parts of their country, in a foolish bit of "multiculturalism" should take notice.

International Herald Tribune reported Scientists in Finland said Friday that they had replaced a 65-year-old patient's upper jaw with a bone transplant cultivated from stem cells isolated from his own fatty tissue and grown inside his abdomen.
This is the sort of stem cell research we need. Use the patients own stem cells to void rejection problems, and avoid destroying embryos.The researchers said the breakthrough opened up new ways to treat severe tissue damage and made the prospect of custom-made living spares parts for humans a step closer to reality.

MoveOn Endorses Obama
The Nation reported Today Barack Obama earned the endorsement of MoveOn, one of the largest grassroots membership organizations in the United States, after clobbering Hillary Clinton by 40 percent in Internet balloting. Obama led the final tally 70.4% to 29.6%, clearing the supermajority required for the endorsement. MoveOn, which has never endorsed a presidential candidate before, boasts that it has 1.7 million members in Super Tuesday states. The group has over half a million members in California alone – roughly one out of ten primary voters in Tuesday's largest state.

Times Online reported ‘Don’t teach children patriotism’
It makes it too hard forthe teachers to convince them their country is bad.Patriotism should be avoided in school lessons because British history is “morally ambiguous”, a leading educational body recommends.
Maybe the leading edicational body needs to study history a littl more.History and citizenship lessons should stick to the bare facts rather than encouraging loyalty to Britain when covering subjects such as the Second World War
Should they show the Nazis as the good guys?or the British Empire, the Institute of Education researchers said. Teachers should not instill pride in what they consider great moments of British history, as more shameful episodes could be downplayed or excluded.

Reuters reported Jerusalem, some of northern Israel and hilly areas in the occupied West Bank were covered in a blanket of snow for the second day in a row on Thursday and many cars stayed off roads due to hazardous driving conditions.
Pump some more Carbon Dioxide into the air. We need to warm this planet up. And with both the President and Congress saying we need to stimulate the economy, Bill Clinton is saying We Just Have to Slow Down Our Economy" to Fight Global Warming.
I've got an idea. Why don't we recognize that both the planet's climate and the country's economy are both things we just cannot control, and we should stop trying to do either one!!!!!

Mr Kambaksh, 23, distributed the tract to fellow students and teachers at Balkh University with the aim, he said, of provoking a debate on the matter.
But Islam cannot stand debate. It must be a very weak religion to not be able to stand debate.But a complaint was made against him and he was arrested, tried by religious judges without – say his friends and family – being allowed legal representation and sentenced to death.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's "universal" health-care plan
WSJ reported Arnold Schwarzenegger's "universal" health-care plan died in the California legislature on Monday, in what can only be called a mercy killing. So let's conduct a political autopsy, because there are important lessons here for the national health-care debate..... The centerpiece of the Schwarzenegger plan was the "individual mandate," which is also the heart of HillaryCare 2.0. Such a law would compel everyone to acquire insurance, with subsidies for those who couldn't afford it. But the individual mandate incited a liberal revolt. Many Democrats and some unions argued the subsidies weren't generous enough to cover lower-income families, and it wasn't fair to penalize them for coverage they couldn't afford. One state Senator called the plan "a knife in the throat of the working poor." So the plan failed because it was too expensive -- and because for some Democrats it wasn't expensive enough.
That sounds like Democrats, give them more and more money, but where does the money come from. Your pocket and mine.Opposition also arose because the plan didn't do enough to punish the left's health-care villains. While it greatly expanded regulation of insurers -- requiring them to accept all applicants, and prohibiting premium differences based on health status -- it didn't cap how much they could charge consumers, or regulate their profits.
Dems just hate free enterprise.Democrats also complained that the taxes the plan imposed on business, as high as 6.5% of payroll, weren't high enough. Business disagreed.
They thought they were too high.All of which is to say that while the plan was opposed by nearly all Republicans, it died at the hands of Democrats. Mr. Schwarzenegger was a collaborator in that he went out of his way to assail and thus alienate fellow Republicans for opposing tax increases to pay for the plan. But if Mrs. Clinton or Barack Obama want to push a major health-care reform through Congress, they will have to find a way to appease their own left-wing while not alienating business and taxpayers.

I switched over to CNN, which has a crystal-clear hi-def signal, and never flipped back.

NOW-NY Slams Ted
Albany Times Union reported The National Organization for Women’s New York chapter issued a scathing reaction to Sen. Ted Kennedy’s endorsement of Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. Actually, the word “scathing” feels inadequate here. Read for yourself:“Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Obama tells Jews: 'I never practiced Islam'
JTA reported U.S. Sen. Barack Obama confronted rumors that he is a secret Muslim in a conference call with the Jewish news media.... "I never practiced Islam. I was raised by my secular mother. I have been a member of the Christian religion and an active member of a church," he said. "I was sworn in with my hand on my family Bible and have said the Pledge of Allegiance since I was 3 years old."
Did he or did he knot accompany his father to a Mosque for Friday prayers? Did he or did he not repeat the prayers? I believe those prayers begin with the Shahadah, and I believe reciting those words makes you a Muslim. Now he may have renounced Islam and become a Christian, but that makes him an Apostate.

Clinton Hate
The world is turning against the Clintons.

I would not call the Clintons dead. Even cancer has a tendency to pop back up after you think the chemo has worked. But I bet lamps are being thrown in the Clinton household tonight.
Don't treat the old and unhealthy, say doctors
Telegraph reported Doctors are calling for NHS treatment to be withheld from patients who are too old or who lead unhealthy lives.
What if you are a conservative?Smokers, heavy drinkers, the obese and the elderly should be barred from receiving some operations, according to doctors, with most saying the health service cannot afford to provide free care to everyone.
That is the problem with goverment controlled health care.Fertility treatment and "social" abortions are also on the list of procedures that many doctors say should not be funded by the state.
I agree with that par.Daily Pundit blogged If you give control of your medical care to the state, then the state controls the medical care you receive.
And the government does such a wonderful job of every other thing it tries. Why not a hospital run like the DMV. Or like Katrina.
