Deadliest Day in Months

NYT reported In the deadliest day for American forces since the beginning of the year, at least nine members of the military were killed in the insurgent stronghold of Anbar Province, including four in a rebel attack and at least five when their truck accidentally flipped over, the American military command said Monday.

While we grieve the loss of every member of the military that dies, another way of looking at this headline is Iraq has become a much safer place for the US military this year than last year, and even yesterday, we lost more soldiers in an auto accident than we did to enemy fire.
