The false prophets wind up with their heads twisted around facing backwards and the rotten pols spend eternity in a lake of boiling tar. Of course Bolgia 9 would be no stretch either-- an unpleasant little eternity for the sowers of discord. Dante has assigned Muhammad there.

I was not a major Falwell fan, but I feel sure he is in Heaven, not Hell (although I agree with DownWithTyranny that is where Muhammad is.) I do pray for his family and the people at Liberty University.

So this ugly Kaafir, Jelly Falwell (may he be tortured in the grave and roasted in the Hellfire), just recently died. I hope his death was horrible and painful when the Angel of Death ripped out his soul. In fact, that’s what is expected for all non-Muslims that die as non-Muslims. They rebelled with their Shirk and Kufr, so the Angels of Death will give them a taste of that rebellion. But Jerry Falwell is different. He deserves it more than most Christians.

Like any other Christian he will receive eternal life in Heaven, and he did not have blow himself up to get it.

So at the sight of his death, we say, “Alhamdullilah, that Allah ‘Azza wa Jall purified the earth from one impure (najas) Kaafir.” His death should also be a reminder to all non-Muslims. That reminder is: Everyone will taste death. That is the practice of Allah and nobody can escape it. So ponder about becoming Muslim.

So you can blow yourself up trying to get into Heaven.

An Amputee Sprinter: Is He Disabled or Too-Abled?

NYT reported As Oscar Pistorius of South Africa crouched in the starting blocks for the 200 meters on Sunday, the small crowd turned its attention to the sprinter who calls himself the fastest man on no legs. Pistorius wants to be the first amputee runner to compete in the Olympics. But despite his ascendance, he is facing resistance from track and field’s world governing body, which is seeking to bar him on the grounds that the technology of his prosthetics may give him an unfair advantage over sprinters using their natural legs.

Let him compete. And then see how many able bodied athletes ask to have their legs cut off so that they can be like him.

... “The rule book says a foot has to be in contact with the starting block,” Leon Fleiser, a general manager of the South African Olympic Committee, said. “What is the definition of a foot? Is a prosthetic device a foot, or is it an actual foot?”

And do the current athletes have contact between their foot and the starting block, or is there a shoe between the two?

I can see how a marathoner can be tired, and having a chair to sit in is good, but the legs are more powerful than the arms, so I don't see why a wheelchair athlete should not be able to compete. If it is such an advantage, let everyone compete in wheelchairs if they want.

But the governing body has also embraced technological advances. For instance, it permits athletes to sleep in tent-like devices designed to simulate high altitude and increase oxygen-carrying capacity.... “You have two competing issues — fair competition and basic human rights to compete,” said Angela Schneider, a sports ethicist at the University of Western Ontario and a 1984 Olympic silver medalist in rowing. The I.A.A.F. must objectively define when prosthetic devices “go from therapy to enhancement,” Schneider said. The danger of acting hastily, she said, is “you deny a guy’s struggle against all odds — one of the fundamental principles of the Olympics.”

Teachers stage fake gunman attack on sixth-graders

CNN reported Staff members of an elementary school staged a fictitious gun attack on students during a class trip, telling them it was not a drill as the children cried and hid under tables. The mock attack Thursday night was intended as a learning experience

Any teacher or other educator that thinks that that was a "learning experience" should be fired, and very possibly should go to prison.

I can imagine that they would be. I hope that they talk to the school board and see that all of these educators are fired, and if the school board backs the educators, then they need a new school board.

EU proposes monitoring radical mosques

Yahoo! News reported Security officials from Europe's largest countries backed a plan Saturday to profile mosques on the continent and identify radical Islamic clerics who raise the threat of homegrown terrorism.

Islam will modernize???

Washington Times editorialized In the last two decades, the violence perpetrated by the proponents of Islamism -- an ideology distinct from Islam as a religion -- has created serious doubts about the potential of Islam to live in harmony with others.

This is true. I certainly hope that it can modernize, but I do not see any evidence that it is trying to do so.

The doubts are well justified, but it would be wrong to extrapolate the current "crisis of Islamdom" to a general negative view about Islam as a religion. One should recall that Islamdom was probably the most advanced and enlightened part of the world 1,000 years ago. Perhaps, we are just living in a bad episode in its extremely diverse history.

The reason the rest of the world has progressed, and Islam has not, is due to the way they treat their women. They remove half of their population from being able to contribute anything: in science, in education, in economics, in religion, etc.

Consider, for example, the issue of religious freedom. It is undeniable that the current Islamic world has a bad record in that regard: Christians are persecuted and Jews are vilified in many parts of the Islamic world. The crucial question is whether the current intolerant attitude is an integral component of Islam as a religion or a historical attitude retained from premodern times. Many think intolerance is built into Islam, but actually the Koran decrees no sanction for apostasy

Surah 16:106 says Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty. and the Hadith is even more specific: "Whoever changes his religion, kill him" which is called for in Bukhari, Abu Dawud, and many other Haddith that are not online, including Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, An-Nasai, the Muwatta of Imam Malik, Tayalisi, Ibn Hanbal, Ibn Hibban, the Sunan al-Kubraa, Bayhaqi, Abu Ya'laa, Humaidi, Abd al-Razzaq, and Ibn Abi Shaybah.

As long as they pay the Jizya tax: Translation of Sahih Muslim, Book 19: The Book of Jihad and Expedition (Kitab Al-Jihad wa'l-Siyar) 19:4294 says Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war .... If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. [A special tax that Jews and Christians must pay to live in a Muslim country. Followers of other religions are just killed outright if they refuse to convert to Islam.] If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them. [i.e. they must convert to Islam, pay a special very high tax so they can live as second class citizens, or die.]

There are "verses of the sword," to be sure, but it is possible to argue these verses refer only to those non-Muslims who have been belligerent toward Muslims in the first place.

The Koran, in other words, makes a doctrine of just war and a live-and-let-live approach possible.The more established interpretation, however, has not been so generous. The infusion of politics into religion since the early decades of Islam has skewed the tradition. Islamic jurists, the creators of Shariah, not only introduced non-Koranic concepts such as the ban on apostasy but also developed the "method of abrogation" to bypass the peaceful verses and uphold the verses of the sword.

Sura 2:106 says None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?

They also adopted several laws from Sassanid Persia, which included the specifications for the second-class status of conquered Jews and Christians as dhimmis.

As indicated above, the Jizra the dhimmis must pay is in the Koran.

In premodern times, this was not shocking, and many Jews found it preferable to the attitude of medieval Christendom. The emergence in the West of such ideas as equal citizenship and religious freedom, however, changed the balance, making the Islamic world look backward. But it did take measures to improve itself. The Ottoman Turks, ruling much of the Islamic world, saw the need to reform the Shariah according to modern political concepts. In two substantive reform edicts, first in 1839 and then in 1856, the dhimmi status was abolished, and Jews and Christians gained equal citizenship rights.

Is that true in Islamic countries today?

Religious freedom was also guaranteed. The Ottomans accepted a Constitution in 1876, and set up a parliament that included members from all faiths. The crucial point is that the Ottoman Empire wasn't abandoning Islam by reforming its laws, but it was modernizing from within the tradition. The Koranic verse "There is no compulsion in religion" was stressed by the Ottoman religious elite to justify the reforms.

Good luck doing that today.

But unfortunately the Ottoman Islamic modernization ended with the demise of the empire in the First World War. From its ruins, what we now call the Middle East arose -- with a doomed legacy: All post-Ottoman states, except Turkey and Saudi Arabia, were colonized by European powers, a phenomenon that would soon breed anti-colonialism and anti-Westernism throughout the entire region.

Islam accepts the idea of taking over other countries by the sword. Why does it not accept the idea that it can be taken over when it loses a war?

And the two exceptions went in totally opposite directions: The fanatic Wahhabi sect -- which had been the bete noire of the Ottomans and their reforms -- dominated Saudi Arabia, and Turkey became a secular republic.

And today Turkey is threating to become an Islamic theoacracy.

The early Turkish Republic was influenced not only by the legacy of Ottoman reforms but more so by the French Enlightenment and its radically secularist worldview. Early Republican elites asserted that religion is an "obstacle to progress." To deal with it, they incorporated laicite, the French notion of radical secularism, which allowed no role whatever for faith in public life. Therefore throughout the Republican period, Turkey's observant Muslims felt themselves suppressed and humiliated. That's why, despite the customary rhetoric, Turkey actually never served as an example of the compatibility of Islam and modernity to other Muslim nations. It represented, instead, the abandonment and even suppression of the former for the sake of the latter. But that's a bad message for the Islamic world: When a devout believer is forced to choose between God and modernity, he will opt and even fight for the former. The solution is not a strict separation but a synthesis between Islamic and modern values.

In which the Islamic side will prevail. Like is happening in Pakistan today.

That should help us understand why the current tension in Turkey between the moderate Muslim government (led by Tayyip Erdogan, leader of the AK Party) and the radical secular establishment is all too crucial. The government might have policies that deserve criticism, but its strong support for the European Union process, free markets, and liberal reforms is an invaluable experience showing the possibility of a Western-friendly and still genuinely Muslim popular movement. This should not be sacrificed to the paranoid fears and the authoritarian ambitions of Turkey's secular fundamentalists. The United States should vigorously support Turkey's democracy,

And allow it to become an Islamic Theoacracy by a one time election.

which is the only thing the county needs to further cultivate its "moderate Islam." If Turkey keeps walking on that path, it may well be a light unto many other Muslim nations.

Church sign about Islam offends Muslims

Michelle Malkin blogged about a billboard at the Good News Independent Baptist Church in Spring Hope, North Carolina that said "Dont be deceived: The message of "Islam" is surrender, convert, or die. Not salvation in Jesus Christ."

This is true. Islam talks about Jesus Christ, but it denies that He was the Son of God, and even denies He was crucified.

The other side of the billboard at is equally provocative. It reads: "When is the last time you heard of a Jew or Christian with a bomb strapped to their body?"

A very good point.

An offended official at the Islamic Center of Raleigh has asked the head of the church and his congregation to "learn more about Islam."

I think they know all they need to know about Islam, but thanks anyway.

University Punishes Student Publication for Political Satire

FIRE reported Showing profound disregard for free speech and freedom of the press, Tufts University has found a conservative student publication guilty of harassment and creating a hostile environment for publishing political satire. Despite explicitly promising to protect controversial and offensive expression in its policies, the Tufts Committee on Student Life decided yesterday to punish the student publication The Primary Source (TPS) for printing two articles that offended African-American and Muslim students on campus.

The left does not understand satire, if it comes from the right. Last December, TPS published a satirical Christmas carol entitled “Oh Come All Ye Black Folk” and the ad they printed but were they really guilty of “targeting [black students] on the basis of their race, subjected them to ridicule and embarrassment, intimidating them, and having a deleterious impact on their growth and well-being on campus” or “targeting members of the Tufts Muslim community for harassment and embarrassment, and should Muslim students have felt psychologically intimidated by the piece”? Are Conservatives and Christians the only groups that can have satirical pieces run about them without fear of prosecution? Let us look specifically at the Muslim piece. Does it paint Islam in a nice light? No. Is it one-sided? Yes, but it was in response to a one-sided and overly rosy depiction of Islam during Islamic Awareness week. And a university is supposed to be able to freely explore all sides of something, not just the side the left considers to be politically correct. And let us look at each part of it and see if it is true.

Doctors admit: NHS treatments must be rationed

The Observer reported British doctors will take the historic step of admitting for the first time that many health treatments will be rationed in the future because the NHS cannot cope with spiralling demand from patients.

Someone tell the Democrats, before they put us into this same situation.

In a major report that will embarrass the government, the British Medical Association will say fertility treatment, plastic surgery and operations for varicose veins and minor childhood ailments, such as glue ear, are among a long list of procedures in jeopardy. James Johnson, the BMA chairman, will warn that patients face a bleak future because they will increasingly be denied treatments. He will urge the NHS to be much more explicit about what it can realistically afford to do and ask political leaders to engage in an open, honest debate about rationing.

And warn the US not to adopt the same solution.

The BMA proposes the drawing up of a new patients' charter specifying those health services to which every citizen across England should be entitled, regardless of the local health authority's financial situation. They also want to see a second list of all the treatments which the sick will get only if their primary care trust has the money, and if doctors decide they are clinically worthwhile.

In other words treatments they will never get, or for which the waiting list is so long they hope the patient will die first.

Senior BMA sources say their report recognises the reality that despite record investment in the NHS, 'postcode lotteries' are rife. KVOA News 4 reported Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix has installed a cleanup station to help Muslim taxi and limo drivers meet their religious needs. Two faucets located two feet above the ground enable the drivers to conduct ritual cleansing, including washing of the feet, before they pray. They are part of washroom facilities in a fenced-off parking lot on the west side of the airport where taxi drivers wait to be called forward to the terminals for fares. "The cab drivers were asking for more washroom facilities as a group, and a majority of them wanted some place to wash before they pray," said Deborah Ostreicher, public information officer for the airport. "Sometimes there are as many as 400 drivers waiting, and they can be there for hours at a time. This is a way we thought we could reach out as a customer service."

The taxi drivers are not your customers; the passengers are your customers. The taxi drivers are vendors.

The facility was funded through airport user fees, she said, not taxpayer dollars.

Entrapment???

Houston Chronicle reported He railed against the United States, helped scout out military installations for attack, offered to introduce his comrades to an arms dealer, and gave them a list of weapons he could procure, including machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. These were not the actions of a terrorist, but of a paid FBI informant who helped bring down an alleged plot by six Muslim men to massacre U.S. soldiers at New Jersey's Fort Dix.

If someone came up to me and railed against the US, and gave me a list of weapons he could procure, I would call the police and turn him in. Did they do that?

Those actions have raised questions of whether the government crossed the line and pushed the six men down a path they would not have otherwise followed. It is an argument — entrapment — that has been made in other terrorism cases, and one that has failed miserably in this post-Sept. 11 era.

Asia News reported A draft bill adopted in first reading by Pakistan’s National Assembly is now before a standing committee. Tabled by a six-party politico-religious alliance, the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal or MMA, the Apostasy Act 2006 which the government sent to the committee would impose the death penalty on Muslim men and life in prison on Muslim women in case they leave Islam. It would also force them to forfeit their property and lose legal custody of children.

Many Islam apologists pretend that their faith does not call for this, even though Surah 16:106 says Any one who, after accepting faith in Allah, utters Unbelief,- except under compulsion, his heart remaining firm in Faith - but such as open their breast to Unbelief, on them is Wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a dreadful Penalty. and the fact that "Whoever changes his religion, kill him" is called for in Bukhari, Abu Dawud, and many other Haddith that are not online, including Muslim, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, An-Nasai, the Muwatta of Imam Malik, Tayalisi, Ibn Hanbal, Ibn Hibban, the Sunan al-Kubraa, Bayhaqi, Abu Ya'laa, Humaidi, Abd al-Razzaq, and Ibn Abi Shaybah.

Not a problem. We have plenty of Republicans available.

I just heard from an impeccable source that there is serious concern on the Hill that conservative Democrats in the House will vote with the Republicans to strip any and all restrictions from the Iraq supplemental tomorrow, effectively giving Bush all the money he wants with no restrictions and no effort to hold either him or the Iraq government accountable for anything. I.e., they will vote to continue this war along the same disastrous course because they're too afraid to challenge George Bush and his failed leadership.

Or maybe they recognize that he is pursuing a different plan with the surge, just not the retreat the left wing of the Democratic party wants, and maybe they realize the danger that a pullout would present to Americans here.

Google preparing to police web

Rough Type reported Increasingly worried by the use of conventional web sites to distribute the viruses that turn innocent PCs into botnet "zombies," Google appears to be readying a plan to police the web. If the plan goes forward, Google will use new software to automatically identify compromised web pages in its database and label them as "potentially harmful" in its search results. Because being labeled as suspicious by Google could devastate a site's traffic, the move would raise the security stakes for site owners dramatically.

This is very good news. I hope that they will share the sites they discovered with the virus protection companies so they can warn us when we go to sites that we identify other than through Google.

Interfaith dialogue

TimesOnline reported Tony Blair intends to create a global foundation to foster “greater understanding” between the three “Abrahamic faiths” of Christianity, Judaism and Islam after he leaves Downing Street, The Times has learnt..... A member of his tight-knit inner-circle of advisers confirmed yesterday that Mr Blair is looking to “set up some sort of interfaith organisation”, saying: “He sees this as where the action is and nobody else is really doing it.”.... the interfaith project will attempt to foster religious – rather than political – harmony in the Middle East and elsewhere across the world, including Britain, where rising tensions with militant Islam have provided the backdrop to many of the worst moments of his ten years in office.

Mr Blair, who was enthusiastically reading the Koran even before the September 11, 2001, attacks on the US, said recently: “The tragedy is that as Christians, Jews and Muslims we are all Abrahamic religions. We regard ourselves as children of Abraham but we have fought for so long.”.... He added: “Most Christians are hugely surprised to be told that the Koran reveres Jesus as a prophet.

It also lists Jewish prophets like Abraham and Moses, but it refers to them as Muslims. This was done during the Mecca period when Muhammad was trying to convince Jewish and Christian tribes that their religious scriptures predicted a new prophet, and that he was that prophet, and that they should accept his new interpretation of their faith and become Muslims. When that did not work, he killed them, and transitioned into the Medina phase where the verses he added to the Koran called for the use of force to compel people to accept Islam.

Although aides acknowledge that the new project may face resistance from Muslims who loathe him for his role as an ally to Mr Bush and in the invasion of Iraq, Mr Blair believes that he can appeal to moderate Islam.

and it considers Hindus, Buddhists and others as pagans. That does not mean that Islam treats "People of the Book" as equals. They still must pay a special tax called Jizya if they want to practice their faith without converting to Islam

Is there any hope for peace in the Mideast

Certainly not as long as the Arabs love killing Jews more than they love their own children. Just look at this from Palestinian TV where a character like Mickey Mouse teaches kids to hate and want to kill Jews and work for a worldwide Caliphate.

Esraa, a 12 year old, called in and sang a song saying we will surrender ourselves, and they interrupted her and said it was not a good song, because it has the word surrender. Does she not understand that Islam means surrender, to the will of Allah? They claim it is the will of Allah that Jews be killed, but does this mean that their Allah is so powerless that if He wants them dead, that He cannot see to it, without His followers having to blow themselves up? Maybe it is not really His will, and maybe their so-called leaders are just pretending that it is.

Having large families ‘is an eco-crime’

TimesOnline reported Having large families should be frowned upon as an environmental misdemeanour in the same way as frequent long-haul flights, driving a 4x4 car and failing to reuse plastic bags, according to a report to be published tomorrow by a green think tank.

This is sheer stupidity. For one thing overpopulation is occurring in the third world countries, not in major Western countries, and Muslims are having the largest number of children in them. This stupid suggestion just increases the time when Europe will become Islamic by becoming majority Muslm countries; no force will be necessary to take it over.

The paper by the Optimum Population Trust (OPT) will say that if couples had two children instead of three they could cut their family’s carbon dioxide output by the equivalent of 620 return flights a year between London and New York.

Kim Priestap blogged I don't know what Mr. Guillebaud is so concerned about. Europeans are already breeding themselves right out of existence. Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, and Italy have higher death rates than birth rates. The UK's birth rate, which has been in decline since 1975, is currently 10.7 per 1000, making it barely higher than its death rate, which is 10.1 per 1000. I would think that would allay any of his concerns.

However, what Mr. Guillebaud doesn't realize is that by encouraging British and European couples to not have many children, he's encouraging a Muslim majority in Europe.
