Yahoo! News reported Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born Dutch legislator who has championed the rights of Muslim women, is returning from a book tour to a firestorm for lying on her asylum application when she fled to the Netherlands in 1992 to escape an arranged marriage.... Political opponents want her stripped of her Dutch citizenship and deported. Others say she should be expelled from parliament.
When extreme Muslims want her killed, the brave Dutch think it would be safer for them to just get rid of herHirsi Ali became a popular figure in the Netherlands for renouncing her Muslim faith, condemning the treatment of women in many Muslim households and criticizing Dutch immigration and integration policies. She became internationally known when a film she wrote provoked the murder of its director, Theo van Gogh, by an Islamic radical in 2004. With her own life under threat, she went into hiding for three months, and still lives under 24-hour protection.
And as we reported here her neighbors want her evictedThe latest political storm followed the airing of a 30-minute TV documentary Thursday tracing her steps from Somalia, where her father was an imprisoned opposition politician, to her family's exile in Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Hirsi Ali repeated on the TV documentary that when she arrived in 1992 she changed her name from Hirsi Magan and her birth date on her asylum application and did not tell the authorities that she had lived in three different countries since leaving Somalia. "I invented a story that would be consistent with the conditions for asylum," she told The Associated Press.
Practically every candidate for asylum does it.Jeff Goldstein blogged Uh, deported where, exactly? Somalia? Why not just behead her themselves and been done with it? U.S. lawmakers should immediately, and in a bi-partisan manner, offer Ali asylum and citizenship. Such a move would let the world know, yet again, who stands for universal individual rights, and who is willing to shoulder the risks associated with guarding those rights.
Damian blogged If there was ever anyone I was willing to forgive for having lied on a refugee claim, it's Ayaan Hirsi Ali. And sending her out of the Netherlands - especially back to Somalia - would be a death sentence. If she is forced out, I hope Canada has the cojones to take her in. Anyone want to bet the people demanding her expulsion from the Netherlands would never demand any other refugee claimant be expelled 14 years after the fact?
coondawg blogged Yes, I think they have gone mad. This is what she sought asylum from.
Allah Pundit blogged Hirsi Ali is arguably the greatest champion of western values on the international scene right now; in refusing to tolerate Islamist intolerance, she’s … doing a job Europeans won’t do. Call it “earned citizenship.”

crazy
Well, the "champion for the rights of Muslim women" has cheated on the same system she has helped to restrict for other refugees in the past 4 years
FYI, this restriction has resulted in the deportation of 3 Iranian men, who were hanged a week after they were deported.
It has facilitated deportation of 17 Somali nationals in 2005 (8 women, 7 children and two men). 12 of them are still missing.
Somalia was found back then, especially by her party, a save country. Ayaan is not different than all the others. If the a court find her guilty of commiting fraud, she will be deported, just like others.
Besides, how incredible is a defender of human/women rights who have cheated the legal system herself?
So where do you want her deported to, bittersweet? Her home country of Somalia? How long do you think she would keep her head?
Why don't you just decapitate her yourself?
Are you saying she voted to deport the 3 Iranian men and the 17 Somali you referred to?
According to the E.U. "Dublin Accord", Refugees who passed thru one E.U country and arrived in a second E.U country (in which they apply for asylum) should be deported back to the first E.U country. The first E.U country is responsible for their asylum procedure. In her case, she not only travelled thru Germany before arriving in the Netherlands, she also applied for asylum in Germany, but failed to mention that to the Dutch athorities.
Ayaan didn't come straightaway from Somalia. She lived more than 11 years in Kenya and haven't witnessed the atrocities of the civil war in Somalia, as she told on several occasion (Zomergasten, 2005). Wild guess: I bet she didn’t tell the German that she lived the last 11 years in Kenya either.
Based on this: Ayaan should be deported to the country from which she arrived from prior entering the E.U. In her case Kenya.
Decapitate her? What are you talking about?!!!
The Dutch asylum law was changed two times the last 4 years. It' s nothing close to humanity or justice. And guess what? When these changes (both initiated by her party) were passed thru the parliament, the ooh so great defender of (women) human rights was as quite as a small mouse. Many cases of refugees/foreign nationals were discussed lately in the Dutch parelent: Taida, the hanged Iranians, the missing Somalis and Kalou. Not once, not even once did Mrs Champion of women rights speak up. Especially when the case of the Iranins was discussed, that should have rang a bell to Ayaan: A moran can predict that sending a gay muslim back to Iran isn't such a good idea, don't you think?
I guess it's not more than fare that she faces the consequences of the laws she helped to establish.
There are thousands of people being killed daily for absolutely no reason: whether by Muslims, Americans, European, Israeli's or others. I'm sure you're aware of that! Everyone should disapprove of this, no matter who the committers are. However, I can't see what makes Ayaan's possible decapitation (as you have put it) different than all the other attrocities commited on daily basis?

They would not even be thinking of doing something with her if it was not for the extreme Muslims wanting to kill her for what she said about Islam, and decapitation is one of their favorite ways of killing people they dont like

Did those changes call for the supression of women's rights in Holland

So she deserves to die because she did not expand her calling for women's rights to include gay Iranians?

I suspect you mean fair, but what law did she help to establish that she deserves to die for?

There are not that many being killed daily by Americans, European, Israeli's or others for advocating women's rights in Muslim lands, and if you support letting her be killed, do you favor killing the Dutch Filmmaker or the Danish cartoonists?
It's typical how you dismiss all evidence, which proof that Ayaan has flagrantly cheated the system and lied to an entire nation, and that she should face any punishment that others, who did the same, had to face. It's funny, yet not surprising.
America (like some European and other nations) has a very long history of committing atrocities against humanity, that's not a secret! Among those killed by Americans were and are thousands of freedom fighters, who defended and are defending their basic human rights. Now explain to me: what makes the Rights of Muslima's so special? Why is it different than other human rights area’s, which are being violated on a daily basis, let's say like in Iraq or in Guantanamo Bay? Why being so selective?
You keep on bla-bla-bla-ing about Ayaan being: hanged, killed or decapitated.... Who mentioned any of these things? Consolations to Ayaan: Fortunately she’s living in the E.U where human rights and justice system are far more protected and respected than ANY WHERE ELSE. And, If your exaggerative doom-scenario of her being decapitated becomes a reality: compared to dying as a result of chemical-weapons-attack (like the hundreds of thousands who died in Vietnam where napalm and white phosphorus were used) or as a result of systematic torture (like in Guantanamo Bay), to be decapitated is a much fast and less painful way of dying.
It's so typical of some so-called "defenders” of freedom & justice, you included, to constantly demonize Islam/Muslims and other groups which do not agree with their point of view by portraying them as savages who are only interested in killing innocents and terrorizing others. If this unjust demonization proofs anything, it proofs that you’re still living in the myth, which was created by Warlord Bush, that all Muslim are out there to deprive you of your democracy, freedom, and of your culture. You’re indirectly (still!) trying to force an anti-Islam ally-ship between America and Europe by pointing to the imaginary mutual contemporary enemy: the Islam. Europe isn’t America first of all! Second: The whole world has become aware of the lies, which Bush made up, to win support for his ill-started wars. Apparently you still haven’t. Wake up and smell the coffee!

I don't dismiss the evidence that she has cheated the system, but I don't think it should be a capital offense, i.e. that she should pay with her life.
what makes the Rights of Muslima's so special?
If we are to avoid a clash of civilizations Islam needs to be reformed and brought into the 21st century. And if that is going to happen, people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali are important.
Why is it different than other human rights area’s, which are being violated on a daily basis,
I am not aware of individuals who are speaking out for human rights whose life is being threatened and who are about to be deported back to a country that would kill them.
let's say like in Iraq or in Guantanamo Bay? Why being so selective?
I am not responsible for the people insurgents killing Iraqis, and the prisoners at Gitmo are being treated much better than they deserve
You keep on bla-bla-bla-ing about Ayaan being: hanged, killed or decapitated.... Who mentioned any of these things?
The Muslims who threatened her, and who are the reason her neighbors want her kicked out of her house.
to be decapitated is a much fast and less painful way of dying.
Do you want to volunteer to take her place?

The islamoterrorists are portraying themselves by both their words and their deeds.
If this unjust demonization proofs anything, it proofs that you’re still living in the myth, which was created by Warlord Bush, that all Muslim are out there to deprive you of your democracy, freedom, and of your culture.
Actually Bush is embracing groups like CAIR, and I wish he was more selective. Some of the people in CAIR are good, but not all of them.
You’re indirectly (still!) trying to force an anti-Islam ally-ship between America and Europe by pointing to the imaginary mutual contemporary enemy: the Islam.
Europe is in a much greater risk than we are.
Europe isn’t America first of all! Second: The whole world has become aware of the lies, which Bush made up, to win support for his ill-started wars.
You should not stop taking your medication.
Apparently you still haven’t. Wake up and smell the coffee!
I dont drink coffee. It burns your tongue, and rots your mind out. I see that it has at least had the second result on you.
