McKinney Says Police Officer Touched Her 'Inappropriately'

WaPo Cynthia McKinney, the Georgia congresswoman who had an altercation with a Capitol Police officer, said yesterday that the officer started the incident by "inappropriately touching and stopping" her after she walked past a security checkpoint.

So now she is playing the feminist card as well as the black card
McKinney, speaking at a news conference where she was joined by singer Harry Belafonte
If she even associates herself with that nutcase, she is clearly guilty.
and actor Danny Glover, said she understands that a case against her may be referred for prosecution but declared that she will be exonerated.

"Let me be clear: This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black congresswoman,"
She is saying "I'm a black, so no white policeman has a right to stop me, because it is racism, and I am a woman, so if a man touches me, it is inapproriate touching." The fact that she was trying to get around security, and was not wearing the special button that they give Congress Critters to enable them to do that, is beside the point.
McKinney said. "I deeply regret that this incident occurred."
How about saying "I deeply regret not wearing the proper security devices, hitting the policeman, accusing him of racism, and accusing him of "inappropriate touching."
McKinney, a Democrat, declined to discuss the incident further because she still may be charged with striking the officer after she entered a House office building this week unrecognized and did not stop when asked. She and her two lawyers would not say whether she hit the officer or how he touched her inappropriately.
They dont want to explain how it happened, because then it would make the phrase "inappropriate touching" obviously wrong.

We live in a society today where there is a sort of backlash from the children and grandchildren of those in our country who resented the Civil Rights movement only 39 years ago. After that movement, there needed to be monitors in the black community making sure that the rights granted remained civil and legally challenged as needed. However, some of those who needed to be there after Martin Luther King, Jr. fell asleep and got lazy making it hard for the black American children and grandchildren growing up after this movement. This whole "race card'and "baiter" comment is simply yet another term used against any black American who challenges those rights that are to be held as civil, allowed, and honored. We live in the best country in the world. Our Constitution is awesome! Yet now it is time to have it matched up with our situations because we have and can be included today. I am a bit concerned that we still have black Americans fighting for our country against a foreign enemy. Yet, in our country we are continually stopped, checked, and overchecked to our humiliation with the excuse that we black Americans MIGHT BE 911 terrorists. The reigns were already tightened up against us only these 39 years ago which I mentioned prior.Since 911, too many Americans who just happen to be white, have worked to justify their hatred by covertly seeing Americans who fight for our own country as terrorists. This is wrong. And when we challenge your labeling towards those of us who are Americans, you call us baiters and race card pullers. These are simply new popular terms used against African Americans as red herrings to the reality that, to you, it is an embarrassment to have a black woman congressman in good ole' Georgia. It is an embarrassment because you still hate in your hearts and do not like black Americans. This is true whether we fight for our country or not isn't it? Because of protocol, Cynthia should not have hit this police officer. However, was he feeling her innapropriately baiting her to respond in a way that was expected? Was stopping her planned? Believe me, I know these Congressman would never back her up. Why? Because it is a heart issue that may never be exposed completely until God himself intervenes. But in the meantime, black Americans need to be able to be harmed first by those in charge based on protocol. But we also need not be victims. We need to take all of the funds we have and put it back into the legal system to legally challenge the hateful actions, the singleing out, and the innappropriate behaviors that some Americans practice simply because in their true hearts is hate and anger. Cynthia is not a clown. She is a successful woman in Congress who speaks for issues that she believes in. This is rare in that field since most others are not sincere. That reality is true amongst both Republicans and Democrats. However, it is pop culture to make Cynthia into a clown because some in American society do not want to see her as equal in any way, shape, or form.

I am sure there really are still some racists out there, but there are a lot feweer than there used to be.

And while there are a lot of very good, hard working, blacks, there are some that do things wrong, and when they are caught, they should admit what they did wrong, and not just say that the people that caught them are racists.

in our country we are continually stopped, checked, and overchecked to our humiliation with the excuse that we black Americans MIGHT BE 911 terrorists.

Too many whites, including babies and grandmothers, are stopped and checked too, because they are afraid of being accused of profiling.

There should be profiling. They should be targeting arab males.

it is an embarrassment to have a black woman congressman in good ole' Georgia.

If Georgians find her an embarrassment, and I can see why they might, they should find someone else to run against her. They had such a person, who decided to try for a run for Senate.

Because of protocol, Cynthia should not have hit this police officer.

One should never hit a police officer, unless one wants to go to jail.

However, was he feeling her innapropriately baiting her to respond in a way that was expected? Was stopping her planned?

He did not recognize her (she had changed her hairstyle). She was not wearing the pin she is required to wear to identify her as a member of the House. And she tried to go around security. Yes stopping her was planned. And it is a very good plan. As is throwing her in jail for hitting a police officer.
